International Institute, March 11, 2014 — A UCLA Center for Middle East Development (CMED) conference on March 8–9 in Prague addressed how best to develop the Palestinian economy. Both Tony Blair, former prime minister of the United Kingdom, and Madeleine Albright, former U.S. secretary of state, were keynote speakers.

Cosponsors of the meeting in the Czech capital, which was organized and funded by CMED, included the international “quartet” (the United Nations, United States, European Union and Russia), the Aspen Institute, Partners for a New Beginning and the Middle East Commercial Center of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
