In an opinion piece in the Los Angeles Times, UCLA's Steven Spiegel encourages U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to stay the course in negotiations with Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
"Both sides have behaved badly and will have to step back from the precipice, if Kerry plays it right. By leaving a team under U.S. envoy Martin Indyk in place on the scene, the door is open for resurrecting the deal that was on the verge of being completed when the Palestinians decided to move their efforts to the U.N."
