Film screening of "Dancing Like Home," a documentary film work in progress showing the journey by Joyce Guy and Malang Bayo to Casamance, Senegal. Their journey is a return home to explore the origins and history of the dance and drum of Casamance.

Dancing Like Home is a 90 minute documentary film work in progress showing the journey by Joyce Guy and Malang Bayo to Casamance, Senegal.  Their journey is a return home to explore the origins and history of the dance and drum of that region.  Casamance is the rural, tropical southern region of Senegal, home to the Mandinka and Djola people.

This film screening will be hosted by Charles Reese (James Baldwin: A Soul on Fire) with celebrity guests, readings of works about Africa and dance, and a raffle of glassworks by visual artist Kayren Lyle.  Light refreshments will be served.
