Turn in your pledge sheets at the STANDFAST booth on Bruin Walk Monday through Thursday.

STANDFAST for those suffering in the Darfur region of Sudan where a brutal government-directed campaign of genocide and terror has left 380,000 dead and driven over 2 million people from their homes. Each day, civilians face the grim prospects of mass killings, torture, systematic rape, and destruction of their villages, water, and crops by the Janjaweed, organized bands of Arab militia sponsored and supported by the Sudanese government.

Ruth Messinger, Executive Director of the American Jewish World Service

Ruth Messinger shares her impressions of the crisis and eyewitness accounts from her fact-finding mission to Darfur this past summer. AJWS is working with local relief and refugee aid groups in Darfur and Chad to provide emergency assistance.
