The Grammy award winning ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock will perform a benefit concert for the Liberty Hill Foundation on December 3, 2005 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre. This year’s performance will be particularly special as they celebrate their 30th anniversary as the leading female a cappella group in the nation.

The six women of Sweet Honey combine their creative voices to narrate historical movements and promote civic engagement and social justice! The Washington Post says of Sweet Honey in the Rock: “The mix is so fierce as to make one truly believe that music can change the world.” The concert is simultaneously interpreted into American Sign Language.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit Liberty Hill's partnerships with a variety of innovative and effective organizations that enables them to build long-term, community-based solutions to some of Los Angeles' most pressing urban problems. Their scope includes a range of social justice issues including poverty, affordable housing, education reform, youth violence and environmental justice.

Come join in this effort to ensure that Los Angeles is a place that promises safety, opportunity and equality for all of its citizens.
