The Darfur Action Committee of UCLA presents an informational forum on Darfur.
Speakers:
- Lako Tongun - Professor of African and Third-World Politics; Political Economy, Development Economics at Pitzer College
- Gabriel Stauring - Founder of Stop Genocide Now and Camp Darfur
- Edmond Keller - Director of the Globalization Research Center-Africa, and Professor of Political Science at UCLA
The Darfur Action Committee (DAC) at UCLA functions to raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur on campus and in the greater community. The DAC calls upon the US, the international community, the UN, to strengthen their resolve and take effective and quick action in ending the ongoing genocide in Darfur and works towards these goals through various campaigns such as letter writing, fundraising, and educational programs and this provides students with tools to take action.
