Sankofa is a powerful movie directed by the famous Ethiopia moviemaker, Ato Haile Gerima, documenting a Black Family from the US visiting the Island of Gore in west Africa, where captured slaves used to be kept in confinement until slave ships would arrive to take them to the New World. The film will be shown in Little Ethiopia, at Messob Restaurant 1041 S. Fairfax Ave. on Saturday and Sunday 21 & 22 April at 5:00 pm.
