Film Screening of "The Planet"
The Hammer Museum at UCLA will be screening "The Planet" which presents an international perspective on the consequences of the massive shifts in geography and anthropology stemming from globalization. From Kenya to Brazil, Shanghai to Greenland, this documentary traces the effects local decisions are having on the worldwide ecosystem.

Directors Johan Soderberg, Michael Stenberg, and Linus Torell examine the planet and sustainable development in this film.
The screening of "The Planet" and a subsequent discussion and screening of "Intelligent Choices for Sustainable Development" are part of the Beyond Blond series at the Hammer. Beyond Blond is a month-long, city-wide celebration of Swedish Culture and industry. This year's theme--ResponsAbility--addresses Sweden's contributions to our understanding of the natural world, and explores the challenges inherent in reconciling the needs of a burgeoning human population with the growing global environmental crisis.
