Rwanda, a small land-locked country in Central Africa, has made significant strides in fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic since the war and genocide of 1994. The Rwandan military’s HIV program, funded by the US Department of Defense and implemented in partnership with Charles Drew University, has been a shining example of the country’s success. Dr. Murego and Mr. Zimulinda will describe the innovative model of mobile VCT and treatment that is being used to reach soldiers throughout the Rwandan countryside.
