Join us for a brown bag discussion on "Civilizing Globalization: Human Rights and the Global Economy" by Professor David Kinley, Chair in Human Rights Law at the University of Sydney's Law School.
Friday, September 25, 2009
12:15 PM - 1:15 PM
Room 1327, UCLA Law School
Los Angeles, CA 90095

BIO: In his new book, Civilizing Globalization, Professor Kinley analyses how human rights intersect with the trade, aid and commercial dimensions of global economic relations, taking the view that, while the global economy is a vitally important civilizing instrument, it itself requires civilizing according to human rights standards. Join us for a discussion as Professor Kinley presents his research and his proposals for minimizing and managing the socially debilitating effects of market failures and financial meltdowns.
