Activating the Past: Yoruba Ritual and Historical Memory

Professor Andrew Apter will present on Yoruba rituals as part of the lecture series for the UCLA Center for the Study of Religion.

Professor Andrew Apter is Chair of the African Studies Minor and Master's Programs and a faculty member in the UCLA History Department. He has studied and taught in Nigeria and his expertise lies in West African and African diaspora studies.  He speaks Yoruba, French, and Spanish.
