Professor Muhammad (Samy) Umar will present a lecture as part of the Islam and Political Regimes II workshop.
Professor Umar is an International Institute Global Fellow.
This lecture is part of a workshop held under the auspices of the Center for Near Eastern Studies at UCLA and funded by the US Department of Education. The Workshop will be conducted in conjunction with a graduate seminar offered by the Department of Political Science and the Islamic Studies Program. The Workshop will consider the question of Islam and the political regimes in ten Muslim countries, focusing on state policy and the political forces associated with Islamic interests, organizations and movements. The Workshop lectures will be open to the University community and will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 3:00pm
