Artist Ali Heidari demonstrates the art of Arabic calligraphy in conjunction with the Arts of Fire exhibition, which examines the influence of Islamic influences on the Italian Renaissance.
As part of the Arts of Fire exhibition, artist Ali Heidari will demonstrate Arabic calligraphy Thurs., Aug. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Sun., Aug. 8, 15, 22, 29.
The Arts of Fire: Islamic Influences on the Italian Renaissance exhibition examines the impact of Islamic artwork and ceramic and glassmaking techniques that arrived in Italy in the later Middle Ages and made possible the groundbreaking Italian production of the 15th and 16th centuries. The exhibit runs through September 5, 2004 and is located in the North Pavilion, plaza level.
