On April 7, 2005, take action and STANDFAST for the people of Darfur!
Pledge to give up a luxury item (chocolate, coffee, soda, etc.) and instead donate the money to the people of Darfur. Participants automatically gain entrance to the Break Fast event on Thursday evening and are entered in a raffle. Turn in your pledge sheets at the STANDFAST booth on Bruin Walk Monday through Thursday.
STANDFAST for those suffering in the Darfur region of Sudan where a brutal government-directed campaign of genocide and terror has left 380,000 dead and driven over 2 million people from their homes. Each day, civilians face the grim prospects of mass killings, torture, systematic rape, and destruction of their villages, water, and crops by the Janjaweed, organized bands of Arab militia sponsored and supported by the Sudanese government.
