The Globalization Research Center-Africa presents a discussion with Professor Robert Cummings, Howard University.
Robert J. Cummings is the Chair of the Department of African Studies at Howard University in Washington D.C. His area of expertise covers telecommunications, transportation networks, economic history, religion, complex emergencies in Africa, and US public policy towards Africa. He was until last year a consultant to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Geneva (UNHCHR) on racism and xenophobia.
Professor Cummings earned his PhD in African Economic History from the University of California, Los Angeles and his MA in American History from North Carolina Central University, Durham. Professor Cummings’ teaching and research areas include African Economic History and Development Strategies, African American History and US Public and Foreign Policy.
