Mamadou Diabate in Concert

Malian musician Mamdou Diabate performs at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Descended from a long line of Malian musicianstorytellers, Mamadou Diabate is a virtuoso of the kora, the ancient 21-string harp/lute from West Africa, and adds a fresh, contemporary flavor to the keita tradition. Part of the Skirball's Sunset Concerts free music series, celebrating musicians from around the globe who perform outdoors to enthusiastic crowds.

Get there early, it’s free but space is limited! Timed entry passes are distributed on-site starting at 5:00 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m. (admittance allowed only with timed pass); concert begins at 8:00 p.m. Parking is $5, or take the MTA Rapid Bus #761.
