The Middle East

The Hammer Museum presents Juan Cole as part of the Hammer Forum on social and political issues.

Author and scholar Juan Cole has written extensively on modern Islamic movements in Egypt, the Persian Gulf, and South Asia, and maintains the blog Informed Comment: Thoughts on the Middle East, History, and Religion.  His most recent book is Sacred Space and Holy War.  He is President of the Global Americana Institute and is a professor of modern middle East and South Asian history in the History Department at the University of Michigan.

This talk is part of an ongoing series of timely, thought-provoking events addressing current social and political issues.  Hammer Forum is made possible, in part, by Erika Glazer.
