Sunday, May 20 -- LA Darfur Observance Day at FAME

On Sunday, May 20, at FAME Church, join a host of concerned citizens in remembering the victims of the Darfur genocide and participate as we Raise Awareness. Take Action Now. Stop the Genocide.

Reception will be across the street at the Allen House.


Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa will lead a broad city-wide coalition of community leaders to bring attention to the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan.
 
An inaugural initiative will be announced by Mayor Villaraigosa as the keynote speaker along with well known community leaders including clergy, entertainment industry stars, and eyewitnesses who have traveled to Darfur.

The program will include an interfaith choir performance, video and photographic images documenting the situation in Darfur, and speeches advocating action.


For UCLA STUDENTS:  There will be a bus leaving UCLA at 3 PM from Ackerman Turnaround and returning from FAME Church after the program (around 7:30).
