Rites of passage and HIV/AIDS prevention: Traditional male circumcision in Western Kenya

The Globalization Research Center-Africa presents a talk by Paula Tavrow as part of the HIV/AIDS Winter Lecture Series.

Paula Tavrow Bio:

• Paula Tavrow, PhD, has been Director of the Bixby Program in Population and Reproductive Health and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at UCLA's School of Public Health since 2002.  Dr. Tavrow's main interest is in developing effective community-based approaches to improve public health in Eastern and Southern Africa.  For the past decade, she has conducted research on health services quality and adolescent reproductive health in Western Kenya.  She received her PhD in Health Services Organization and Policy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
