The UCLA Latin American Institute and the Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles present "Alucinados," followed by a Q & A with Director Roberto Santucci.
Alucinados [Riding High] is a psychological thriller about a common crime now a days in Rio de Janeiro. The film takes us into the most dramatic day of Julia's life, a housewife who becomes a victim of two youngsters from the slums of Rio. When Julia is kidnapped in her armored car by Case and Sapeca, what seems to be at first sight, a social class crash between rich and poor, turns into a much more complex plot linking the past and present of the characters.
