The 2003 Global Public Health conference Call for Abstracts has been posted on the Hawai`i Public Health Association (HPHA) website www.hawaiipublichealth.org . Applications are now being accepted on-line until January 15, 2003.



Your submissions will help shape this conference. We therefore encourage applicants from all areas of public health to contribute abstracts. If you have questions about the topic areas or where abstracts may fit best, please contact Pratisha Budhiraja at hpha@hawaii.rr.com or Ann Davis at gphealth@hawaii.edu. Presented by the Hawai`i Public Health Association and the Globalization Research Center in association with local, national and international health organizations. This conference will consist of plenary speakers, contributed abstract sessions, and poster sessions.



Who should attend?
Public health workers and professionals; health policy makers, health care personnel (health educators, nurses, physicians, social workers and allied health workers), community advocates, and interested community persons.



Conference Objectives:

• To build on the 2002 Global Public Health Conference for Hawai`i and the Pacific in supporting pubic health dialogue and collaborative action; and broader policy, infrastructure, and leadership for the Pacific public health community.


• To offer continuing education and professional public health training and education opportunities for the Pacific.


• To develop consensus statements that will help guide Pacific Island public health policy.
