Nothing is More Stubborn Than the Truth
Congolese author Pierre Mumbere Mujomba and translator/adaptor Jill MacDougall present on The Lost Envelop, a cruel comedy exposing the excesses of African ruling classes and the cannibalism of the global market. They will discuss the current situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Congolese novelist and playwright Pierre Mumbere Mujomba is a mainstay of popular theatre in his country. In addition to teaching French in Kinshasa and founding numberous local theatre companies, he has received international. awards and fellowships. His play 'La derniere enveloppe' earned him the Decouverte Radio France International award and a residency in Limoges. The English version was developed in residency at the Lark Theatre Company in New York. His publications include the novel 'Ecce Ego.'
Translator, facilitator, director and performance scholar Jill MacDougall has worked in theatre in France, Congo, Ivory Coast, Canada, and the US. She has translated numerous works by Francophone authors including 'The Lost Envelop.' She has published critical articles on cultural politics and two books: 'Performing Identities on the Stages of Quebec' and 'Contaminating Theatre.'
