Presentation on Militia in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Reconfiguring Space through the Violence
Alphonse Maindo presents "The Mobilization of the Militia in the Democratic Republic of Congo: the Reconfiguration of Local Political Space through the Violence." Mr. Maindo teaches at the Universite de Kinsangani, DRC, and is the former mayor of Kisangani.

Mr. Maindo is also the recipient of the Claude Ake Memorial fellowship of the African Studies Association which provides young mid-career African scholar-activists with an opportunity to conduct a study tour in the US. He will discuss his ongoing research on the DRC.
Lecture will be in English.
Cost: Free and open to the public; parking is available in lot 3 for $7.
