The South Coast Interfaith Council (SCIC) invites you and your friends to an event to launch a special progressive program entitled A Season for Nonviolence, a 64-day campaign that runs from January 30 to April 4, 2006. This program is an educational, media, and grassroots campaign dedicated to raising consciousness and demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. Inaugurated in 1998 at the 50th and 30th memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this interfaith and international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.
This event on January 29 is a kickoff to the 64-day campaign.
