Raffi Hamparian -- www.anca.org
- Raffi Hamparian is a member of the board of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), Western Region.
- Raffi has worked for the ANCA and it Western Region office for over a decade and has advocated for an appropriate USA response to the Armenian Genocide and similar human rights violations in general. He is well versed in US politics and history especially as it relates to this issue.
Gabriel Stauring -- www.StopGenocideNow.org; www.campDarfur.org
- Gabriel Stauring is the co-founder of Stop Genocide Now and the iACT project, being a witness to Darfur atrocities today.
- Gabriel co-founded StopGenocideNow.org, a web-based global community of dedicated volunteers working to protect populations in grave danger of violence, death, and displacement resulting from the government turning against and killing it's own people. Through active education, advocacy, and policy change, StopGenocideNow.org resolves to change the way the world responds to this kind of disaster. Gabriel spent 21 days in the region in November and December documenting the day-to-day reality of refugees in Chad and humanizing this experience through daily iACT webcasts.
Adam Sterling -- www.SudanDivestment.org
- Adam Sterling served on the Executive Committee of the Darfur Action Committee at UCLA and co-founded of the UC (University of California) Divestment Taskforce.
- Adam helped establish the Darfur Action Committee (DAC) at UCLA and led its successful drive for UC divestment from the government of Sudan. Over the course of a year, the DAC went from a newly founded organization to the driving force behind a coalition of UC students and student groups who raised awareness on campuses throughout California about the killings in Darfur. They also successfully petitioned the UC Regents to divest millions of dollars from companies that conduct business in Sudan. Refusing to be bystanders to genocide, Adam and the members of the DAC proved through their work to be shining examples of what individuals can accomplish as upstanders to human rights violations.
