Diamonds of War

This 50 minute program provides valuable insight into the industry and will be followed by a question and answer discussion period with UCLA History professor and Sierra Leone national, Dr. Gibril Cole.

This program examines the role of "conflict diamonds" in Sierra Leone, and investigates the global politics, history, and culture that drive the diamond industry. Thousands of lives are lost due to the diamond trade, including those of children. The diamonds we wear could come at a price we're not willing to pay.
Dr. Gibril Cole will offer attendees insider insight and crucial information regarding the diamond industry.
