The Asian American Achievement Paradox Wins Major Award

"The Asian American Achievement Paradox," by Asia Pacific Center director Min Zhou, has won the 2017 Best Book in the Social Sciences awarded by the Association for Asian American Studies.

Professor Min Zhou, Director of the UCLA Asia Pacific Center, has received more praise for her award-winning book (coauthored with Professor Jennifer Lee, UC Irvine), The Asian American Achievement Paradox. She was recently notified that the book has won the 2017 Association for Asian American Studies Award for Best Book in the Social Sciences. Last year, the book received three major book awards from the American Sociological Association, including the 2016 Book Award on Asian America from the Section on Asia and Asian America, the 2016 Thomas and Znaniecki Award from the Section on International Migration, and the 2016 Pierre Bourdieu Outstanding Book Award from the Section on the Sociology of Education.
