Associate Research Fellow, Academia Sinica, Institute of Modern History. Her research interests focus on Ming-Qing intellectual history. Among her books are Hu Juren and Chen Xianzhang (Wenjin, 1996); The Wang Yang-ming School during the Ming Dynasty: History, Thought, and Practice (Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, 2003); and among her recent articles are "Women, Self-cultivation and Spirituality in Ming Confucianism," in Voices amid Silence (III): Women and the Culture in Modern China (1600-1950) (Jiu-jung Lo and Miaw-fen Lu, eds.; Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, 2003); "Family Memory and Self-Identity in Shi Runzhang," Chinese Studies 21 (2003); "Late Ming Scholars' Interpretations of Xiaojing (Classic of Filial Piety) and Their Political Implications," Humanitas Taiwanica 61 (2004); and "Religious Dimensions of Filial Piety Developed during the Late Ming: Yu Chunxi's Interpretation of the Xiaojing and Its Culture Context," Bulletin of the Institute of Modern History Academia Sinica 48 (2005). Professor Lu won the Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Researchers in 2004 and the National Science Council General Award in 2000 and 2001.
