Call for Abstracts: Graduate Student Conference

The Harvard East Asia Society invites graduate students from all fields to present at the 11th Annual Harvard East Asia Society.

 

Friday, February 29 - Sunday, March 2, 2008

All graduate students are invited to submit their research abstracts to the Harvard East Asia Society's 11th Annual Graduate Student Conference. The HEAS Graduate Student Conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of current research on East Asia. The conference is an opportunity for young scholars to present their research to both their peers and eminent scholars in East Asia Studies. Submissions from all disciplines are welcome. Please come and present your resarch in front of graduate students and receive feedback from Harvard professors at the largest East Asian Studies graduate student conference in North America!

 

PARTICIPATION:

Participants can take part in the conference as presenters and/or discussants.

Presenters deliver 15- minute (maximum) talks that summarize their research in progress.

Please arrange the order of the presentations with other members on your panel, and notify the moderator of your arrangement.

At the beginning of your session, one of the conference coordinators will introduce the moderator and each panelist. All panels will be moderated by Harvard University faculty.


APPLICATION GUIDELINE:

1. Your paper or research must be related to the East Asia region (including Inner Asia)

2. Abstract limit: 500 words

3. Abstract submission deadline: December 2, 2007

ACCOMMODATIONS:

The Marriott Residence Inn will be providing the accommodations for the HEAS Conference participants this year. The HEAS Conference will be responsible for the basic room charge for Friday and Saturday night; any additional nights and any incidental charges to the room are fully the responsibility of the conference participants.
