China's 2010 Census
Professor Fan discusses China's census on KPCC radio.
C. Cindy Fan, UCLA professor of Geography and Asian American Studies, discusses China's first census since 2000 on KPCC-89.3 FM's "Madeleine Brand Show."
From November 1 to November 10, an army of over six million census workers interviewed China's 400 million households. This census is a landmark: for the first time in the PRC, people were counted according to their actual location rather than their place of household registration (hukou -- usually their hometown).
