Hitoshi Abe's architectural works on display at MOCA

Terasaki Center Director Hitoshi Abe's architectural works will be exhibited at the upcoming show, A New Sculpturalism: Contemporary Architecture from Southern California, at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA from from June 16-September 16.

A New Sculpturalism: Contemporary Architecture from Southern California examines the work of more than thirty major and emerging figures in contemporary Los Angeles architecture of the last twenty-five years. Celebrating the ideas, projects, and processes of an architectural community that continually seizes the opportunity to redefine architecture, locally and globally, from within a city renowned for incubating architectural experimentation.

Presented at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, the exhibition invites the visitor to explore the architect's medium and design process through models and full-scale pavilions.

Exploring the inventions and experimentation of Los Angeles' architectural community, this exhibition demonstrates how the city is one of the world's vibrant centers for architectural thinking and creation, exporting its creative, intellectual capital all over the world.

Works of Atelier Hitoshi Abe on view are the Kanno Museum and the Reihoku Community Hall.
