Salary: NZ$52,000 p.a.

Dates: 1 August 2006 to 31 July 2007

The School of Political Science and Communication invites applications for a fixed-term Postdoctoral Fellowship to complete a research project on a study of non-media related aspects of the Chinese Communist Party’s propaganda system.

Additional duties will include presenting a paper on that research at a local or international conference; giving public talks and media interviews on the research and participating in all regular colloquia and seminars at the School.

The successful applicant must have completed their degree by the commencement date and be within five years of completing their PhD.  Additionally the applicant must be fluent in Chinese and English, and with research degrees in either China-related political science or mass communications. 

Applications should be accompanied by a sample of published writing, either a book chapter or article.
