Funding for research in China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan for U.S. faculty & professionals

Fulbright Scholar Program - Research Opportunities

2009-2010

China - Support for projects on either modern nor premodern China. A portion of the grant period may be spent in Hong Kong or Taiwan. Grants are for 3 to 10 months, starting in September 2009 and later.

Hong Kong - Support for research projects on Hong Kong or on relations between Hong Kong and southern China. Grants are for 4 to 6 months, starting in September 2009 or later.

Macao - Support for projects on Macao’s history and development. Macao’s relations with mainland China or Macao’s role in East-West relations. Grants are for 4 to 6 months, starting in September 2009 or later.

Taiwan - Support for projects on contemporary Taiwan or in classical or contemporary Chinese studies. Grantees may spend a portion of their grants in the People’s Republic of China. Grants are for 2 to 10 months, starting July 2009.

Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • At least three years experience beyond the Ph.D.
