A three-day institute for 7th grade world history teachers, held July 17-19, 2012.
This program, which will be held July 17-19, 2012, will look at major world cities from the Middle Ages to early modern times. Daily scholar talks will focus on themes of urbanization and trade, as well as the appeal and challenges of city life, and model lesson presentations will support participants’ development of challenging activities for all students. There is a $30 fee to attend. Resources will be provided, and UCLA Extension credit will be available for a fee. This workshop is co-sponsored by UCLA’s Center for European and Eurasian Studies, Asia Institute, Latin America Institute, and the G.E. von Grunebaum Center for Near Eastern Studies. We will be meeting at UCLA. Priority will be given to 7th grade teachers. Please mail in your check for $30 made out to UC Regents with your application.
