ELIGIBILITY
In accordance with UCLA Contract and Grant Policy, faculty and staff who are eligible to be Principal Investigators can apply for the Pacific Rim Research grants. Graduate students may apply if faculty members agree to serve as Principal Investigators of record.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
The review process has two stages. The first is a UCLA review. Those passing the UCLA review are then considered at by the UC systemwide committee.
The Asia Institute is the Chancellor's designated representative to evaluate proposals for UCLA researchers. Applicants are required to submit their applications via the UC PRRP website by Thursday, December 8, 2005. Late applications will not be accepted.

REVIEW PROCEDURES AT UCLA
The Asia Institute's Pacific Rim Research Review Committee will evaluate proposals by the middle of January. Each campus can submit up to 12 proposals for Systemwide review.
The Asia Institute will contact Principal Investigators whose proposals are selected for submission to Systemwide. The review committee may recommend that the Principal Investigator revise the proposal to better meet the Systemwide criteria for awards.
Nominees have until February 17, 2006 to submit their revised proposals for systemwide review.
