The Indiana University East Asian Studies Center is proud to announce that we will be hosting our third Joint Consortium National Dissertation Workshop (Consortium: University of California in Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Univerity of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Indiana University), with a special focus on “Modern East Asia” at Indiana University Bloomington on June 23, 2017. Doctoral students and masters students who have been working on theses or other research-related projects relevant to East Asia will attend workshops on Modern Korea, Japan, and China. They will be respectively led by three mentors Dr. Michael Robinson (Professor Emeritus of East Asian Languages and Cultures, Indiana University), Dr. Mariko Tamanoi (Professor of Anthropology, University of California, Los Angeles), and Dr. Fei Hsien Wang (Assistant Professor of History, Indiana University). The workshop aims to provide an intellectual platform for a multidisciplinary perspective for East Asian Studies.
