Lü Xinyu is a professor in the School of Journalism, Fudan University, and chair of the Department of Television Journalism. Professor Lü directs the work of the Fudan-Goldsmiths College [University of London] Documentary Research Centre. Among her research interests are the development of Chinese documentary filmmaking, film and televions theory, and cultural studies. Among her publications are《纪录中国—当代中国的新纪录运动》 (Documenting China: The New Documentary Movement in Contemporary China) (Sanlian shudian, 2003), and 《神话•悲剧•<诗学>—对古希腊诗学传统的重新认识》(Myth, Tragedy, “Poetics”: A New Understanding of the Tradition of Ancient Greek Poetics) (Fudan University Press, 1995).
