A talk David Menashri is the incumbent of the Parviz and Pouran Nazarian Chair for Modern Iranian Studies, Professor at the Department of Middle Eastern and African History at Tel Aviv University.
David Menashri (Ph.D., 1982; Tel Aviv University) is Associate Professor of Middle Eastern and African History and specializes in the history and politics of Iran. He currently serves as the head of the Department of Middle Eastern and African History and is Senior Research Fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. He has been a Visiting Fulbright scholar at Princeton University and Cornell University. In the late 1970's he spent two years conducting research and field study in Iran on the eve of the Islamic Revolution. His research and teachings focus on the social and political history of modern Iran, education and Modernization in the Middle East, Islamic Radicalism, Shi`i political thought and Persian Gulf and Central Asian affairs.
