Peter O'Brien is a Professor of Political Science at Trinity University.  His research interests lie in Europe's relations with non-Europeans, Islamophobia and anti-Americanism, and elitism in Europe (past and present).  His publications include Beyond the Swastika: The Legacy of the Holocaust and Postwar Immigration Policy in Germany; "Europe:  A Civilization on the Edge" in Comparative Civilizations Review (Fall 2005); and "Islamic Civilization's Role in the Waning of the European Middle Ages"  in Medieval History Journal (October 1999).
