Said Ennahid is Professor of Archaeology at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. His research interests include Middle Eastern and North African history and archaeology, medieval historiography and historical geography, contemporary Islamic societies of North Africa, Islamic art history, architecture, and urbanism, and e-heritage (use of information and communication technologies in cultural heritage).

His recent publications include “The Cities of the Almohad Empire” and “Almohad Mechanical Innovations,” in World History Encyclopedia, ed. A. J. Andrea (forthcoming); "The Archaeology of Space in Moroccan Oral Tradition: The Case of Malhun Poetry," in Quaderni di Studi Arabi (forthcoming); and “Fez,” “Marrakech,” “Larache (Lixus),” “Miknas,” “Moulay Idriss,” and “Volubilis,” in The City and Urban Life, ed. Jan Rogozinski.
