Professor Yu will discuss the current situation, and likely future trajectory, of China's "petition system" and constitutionalism.

Yu Jianrong received his doctorate in 2001 from the Center for the Study of China's Agrarian Problems of Central China Normal University. He then engaged in postgraduate research at the Rural Development Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is currently the Director of that institute. He holds a concurrent post in the Ministry of Education.
