Behind the collapse of hope, the economic crisis and the social genocide, there beats the heart of another Argentina, one whose workers muster their dignity against laxity and unemployment. Despite the systematic stripping away of natural resources and industrial, scientific and human infrastructure, they stand up to the authorities whose incompetence and inaction have ruined the country. This is a road movie with a point to make about Argentina’s rich potential, a kind of statement of the assets with which the state could be rebuilt. The third chapter in Solanas’s epic on the ins-and-outs of the 2001 economic crisis, it totally condemns the sleight-of-hand that is trying to present Argentina as a poor country.
