Sexual Diversity in Early Twentieth Century Latin American Literature

Daniel Balderston is a prodigious and widely recognized scholar who has written several books on Jorge Luis Borges as well as on the topics of sexual diversity in Latin America, Latin American Modernism and literary theory. His long list of publications includes El precursor velado: R. L. Stevenson en la obra de Borges,Out of Context: Historical Reference and the Representation of Reality in Borges,  El deseo: enorme cicatriz luminosa,  Sexualidades en disputa: Homosexualidades, literatura y medios de comunicación en América Latina and Borges, realidades_y simulacros.In addition to his numerous contributions to the field of Latin American literary criticism, Prof. Balderston is also director of the Borges Center and editor of Variaciones Borges. He is currently the Mellon Professor of Hispanic Literatures at the University of Pittsburgh.
