NATO in the Gulf: Who is doing a favor to whom?

Matteo Legrenzi is Assistant Professor at the School of Public and International Affairs, University of Ottawa.  He is currently working on a research project aimed at exploring mutual threat perceptions in the Gulf and the feasibility of establishing an alternative security architecture there.  He has published several scholarly articles on the GCC and on the international politics of the Gulf, as well as writing a column on Middle East Politics for the Italian journal Il Mulino. His book The GCC and the International Relations of the Gulf: Diplomacy, Security and Economy Co-ordination in a Changing Middle East is forthcoming from I.B. Tauris.
