Michel Wieviorka, President of the International Sociological Association and Director of the Center for Sociological Analysis and Intervention, teaches at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. He is well known for his work on social conflict, violence, terrorism, racism, social movements, and cultural difference. His publications include The Making of Terrorism (University of Chicago Press, 2003) and The Arena of Racism (Sage 1996).
