
Join us as UCLA Political Science and History Professor Anthony Pagden discusses his most recent publication titled "Worlds at War: The 2,500 year Struggle between East and West." His research is focused on the prolonged relationship between Europe and its foreign settlements and between Europe and the world from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Anthony Pagden has a joint appointment in the departments of Political Science and History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research is focused on the prolonged relationship between Europe and its foreign settlements and between Europe and the world from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Before joining UCLA in 2002, he was a free-lance translator and publisher in Paris, a Fellow of Merton College, Oxford, Senior Research Fellow of the Warburg Institute in London, Professor of History at the European University Institute in Florence, University Reader in Intellectual History and Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge, and the Harry C. Black Professor of History at Johns Hopkins. He is author and editor of over fifteen books, culminating as author his most recent book Worlds at War: The 2,500 year Struggle between East and West.
