Motti Lerner was born in Israel in 1949. From 1979-1984 he was director and dramaturg at the Khan Theatre in Jerusalem, and since then has written extensively for the stage and screen. His plays have been produced in the U.S, England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Australia. Mr. Lerner teaches "political playwriting" at Tel Aviv University, and in 1994 won the Prime Minister of Israel Award for Writers. He is a frequent lecturer about Israeli theatre and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
