Zapotec is the third-largest indigenous language group in Mesoamerica, and one of three indigenous American languages that is currently taught on the UCLA campus.
The UCLA Zapotexts Group consists of linguists and historians who find, copy, transcribe, translate, and analyze writings (texts) in Zapotec from Oaxaca, Mexico that were written in the colonial period (16th – 18th centuries).
