Haldun Gülalp is Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Center for Global Studies at Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. His areas of interest include political sociology, the sociology of religions and religious movements, and the comparative study of citizenship and secularism.  He has published widely in these fields, in English and Turkish. His most recent publications include an article in European Public Law on "Secularism and the European Court of Human Rights" (in English) and a co-edited book entitled Democracy, Secularism and the European Union (in Turkish).
