A public talk by Galia Golan
Galia Golan is Professor, Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, and head of the MA Program and the MA specialization in Diplomacy and Conflict Studies. Dr. Golan specializes in issues related to globalization, international crises and current political issues. She is Darwin Professor of Soviet and East European Studies, emerita, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and former Chair of the Hebrew University Department of Political Science, Head of the Mayrock Center for Eurasian and East European Research, and of the Lafer Center for Women’s Studies. A long-time activist in the leadership of Peace Now and a number of women’s peace organizations, she was the recipient of the 1995 New Israel Fund Award for Women in Leadership, and the 1999 Gleistsman Activist Award. She has authored numerous works on Soviet policy in the Middle East and the Arab-Israeli conflict, including Israel and Palestine: Peace Plans and Proposals From Oslo to Disengagement.
